Question about 1966 Ford Mustang

1 Answer

Mustang will not start.

1966 mustang starts and can be driven, but will not start up immediately. After the car sits for a while, the car then starts up again. What could be causing this? I have only driven the car around the block, not far. It does not quit, but then again I'm not driving it far. I also had a guy that is very knowledgeable with cars adjust the carb.

What type of ignition are you running? What motor do you have? What has been done to the car as far as maintenance?

I would search the internet for it. That's the only advice I can give you for now. Also when searching put in Wiring Schematics instead of diagram.

Sounds like the fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, or a stuck needle and seat in the carburator.

1966 mustang has not been driven for over a year. put new battery, water in radiator, gas. the engine turns over o.k. but it wont start. please help.

Did you check the oil? Often when it sits too long, it kinda gumms up from condensation in the engine, also check your alternator, and I would bet on your spark plugs. get the new platinum tipped ones, they last forever, you can get them at autozone, advanced, and probably good ole WalMart.Good luck.
