I'm not familiar with your specific GM model, but I would go over the fuse blocks & fuses. Connectors get corroded or glazed easily when sitting, depending on your area air quality. If the car was sitting in the yard on the ground this is very probable with the likely humidity and fluctuating temp conditions. I've ressurrected dozens of vehicles from the 'yard' and 90% of the time they have a fuse or ground related problem that is cured by the following 2 steps. Until you do the following, don't waste your time and aggravation trying to troubleshoot further.

1. Since you've changed the battery I assume you have cleaned the posts and you've checked the cable connections for corrosion and tightness at the solenoid posts also. If not then you should do that next. After that look for and tighten all the grounds you can find, like one for the engine to fire wall, engine to batt, etc, just look for them then clean & tighten the bolts & connectors

2. Go over the fuseblock as outlined here:
Remove, test(with an ohmeter), clean (with pink pearl eraser) the fuse wafer tips, and replace them one at a time.
Do the Same for your blinker/hazard relays and other special devices. Then do this with any malfunctioning individual lamps or bulbs in a circuit.

Hopefully this will fix your flaky electrical problems that are common after a vehicle sits for a long time. You may also have a fuse test good for continuity but still not working- so just swap with a new fuse of the same rating to test- never replace with a higher rated fuse.

Good luck and let us know how it went.
If this fixes ya please give a rating.

Pull the oil stick and check the oil. Maybe it is not enough oil, after all it has been sitting a year and I do suggest adding oil to see if it will crank and then after it starts running change the oil. For the radio turn the balance control button backwards and forward rapidly a few times or get some electronic tuner spray and pull off the knobs and spray that balance control and then see if that works after turning the button a few times. The turn signal may have moisture or some type of dirt on contacts.

I dont know what year model you have but the newer one will run when car is turned off to cool radiator. Maybe you have a radiator problem if this just started to happen. Is the car over heating. Did you check radiator fluid or thermostat. I dont know much about your car and year model but i would do these checks. Maybe radiator needs to be flushed. You can use aluminum brite for to flush. Can buy it at O Reiley's. I had to flush my daughters radiator about 10 times when we bought it used, fithy. Looks brand new. Please dispose of chemicals properly. It is an acid.

I bought a 1990 Subaru Legacy 4 door and it is overheating every time I drive it. Has been doing so ever since we got snow and 10 degree weather. It takes about a mile for the gauge to start rising and...

The gurgling noise you are most likely hearing is a blocked or restricted radiator core, the radiator is responsible for cooling the coolant off and recirrculating it back into your engine if the radiator is blocked the hot coolant cannot cirrculate and escape the engine even tho the thermostat is opened, I know this for a fact because i had a Subaru 3 years ago do the same exact thing and it turned out the radiator was blocked and the coolant couldnt move or cirrculate, try getting the radiator reverse flushed to try and dislodge the blockage if that doesnt work you will more then like have to replace the radiator, you can get a used radiator from a salvage yard for a cheaper price if your on a budget or if you have some money to spend go to your local autoparts store and purchase a new radiator, but try flushing it first......

My stick shift has been half eaten by my labrador where can I get a stock new one? She also ate the emergency brake where can I get one of those also?

Ebay. Search for your car (just the model, not the year) and shifter. Email the seller (usually a salvage yard) and ask for the emergency brake. I would send them the VIN# to be 100% sure.

If EBAY doesn't work try:

What temp rating is the thermostat you bought ? there are 3 I believe for your truck, check this and if it is rated below 200 degrees then I would re-flush and add new anti-freeze 50/50.
