Wholing niose when speed increses and decreses on my jeep grand cherokee 1998 i have the same wurling noise only it gets much worse over 90 klms/h have done front wheel bearings but still no luck

You need differential carrier and pinion bearings. Jeeps had many problems with the differentials in these years.

My 1998 jeep grand cherokee surges at cruising speeds. also jumps in secound gear.


It sounds like you either have an Electrical Issue with the PCM or your Band is slipping and you are looking at a rebuild sometime soon.

Speed sensor location


For 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD 5.2L MFI 8cyl the Vehicle Speed Sensor is located on Transmission / Transfer case

Check this Service Manual.

look at the rear axle housing it should be there or in the rear drums look for a wire going into a small sensor
