2001 honda civic bogs out after driving for fifteen to twenty minutes

I have a 2001 honda civic it runs fine for the first fifteen to twenty minutes. then the car bogs down and runs sluggishly and eventually kills. the check engine light comes on when this is happening, the intake manifold is also a glowing orange color while this is taking place.

Check the EGR valve. If this valve stays open all the time like it sounds like it is you will have all these problems you are talking about, also with the glowing of the intake would make even more since

2001 Volvo S80 cooling fan runs for about 30 minutes after turning off the car.


This is normal. The fan will run even after the car is shut off until the engine gets below operating temperature. Most vehicles will do the same thing. Although I think thirty minutes is an excessive amount of time. Most could run up to fifteen to twenty minutes. If the car is retaining heat somehow this would cause it to run longer. 2001 honda civic ex 206,000 miles. Overheating. Changed water pump, flushed radiator, changed thermostat, tested fan (good), pressure tested engine (good). Replaced fan sensor connection. Had sit for 30...


the fan is not operating properly
if it is a viscous fan hub( fan clutch ) replace it
if electric fans check the relay/s and coolany temperature sensor for correct operation
chweck all wires for continuity and connection faults

yes it has 2 i do not believe thats your problem though have your pump and filter checked and make sur they pressure test it as well im referring to fuel

Car drives and shifts OK then out of the blue bogs down and has no power exhaust manifold glows orange. After cooling the car runs and drives fine. Cat converter replaced and flow tested car drives fine...


disconect trany solenoids if you can test it at lower speedsi,,distribuitor may go crazy ,like high voltage going to wrong wires so change that if it is easy enough,fuel pressure regulator may play a roll or coolant temp sensor under the distributor also
