Question about 1995 Ford Bronco

1 Answer

Stuttering while driving

It will start up great, then run okay until I get going around 35 to 40 mph then it will start to stutter and the check engine light will come on. I can speed through it but I would like to fix the problem so it doesn't cost me more in the long run. I have changed the oil and installed new sparkplugs recently but haven't done anything with the auto transmission or transfer case which is my guess where the problem is. Thanks for your help.

If you stop at autozone, or Pepboys, I am told they will perform free scan for codes, which should point you in right direction, but if not, get back to us with codes found for more advice.

My girlfriend is telling me her car tends to stutter around 50-60 mph and acts if it is going to die, she says sometimes the headlights dim when this happens and sometimes they dont, I have searched online...

Check every battery connection. That's all the cables and connections to starter, alternator, engine block, etc. Have alternator checked it may be failing when it hits that particular RPM

Need description of obd drive cycle

This is my drive cycle a generic drive cycle i have used many times over the years and it has never failed me most drive cycles are too specific and impossible to adhere to for most drivers follow these steps exactly 1. make sure all codes are cleared and no check engine light is on 2 make sure the fuel level is between 1/4 and 3/4 full (this is part of the enable criteria for the evap monitor to run ) 3 let vehicle set overnight 4 start engine and let idle until the temp gauge is in the middle (this cold start enables the evap monitor and runs the O2 sensor heater test )5 drive vehicle around town avoid the highway stay at below 50 mph and when stoping at lights remove your foot from the gas and coast from around 50 to about 10mph or less if possible this will run the EGR monitor after about 3 to five miles of this proceed to the highway or freeway and travel over 50 but under 70 mph for about 3 to 5 miles this will run the catalyst test provided the O2 monitors passed if they didnt you will have a check engine light on before this point also i do a coast down on exit ramps (no braking) they make great places to get that EGR to run ONCE YOU START THIS PROCEDURE DO NOT KILL THE ENGINE OR SOME OF THE TEST WILL FAIL TO RUN

So I have a 1990 Chevy Corsica 3.1L that will not run. Before any problems it just stuttered a little on the road but it was fine until one day I was trying to drive it and it wouldn't go above 20 mph....

If it runs on starting fluid, its not getting fuel pressure or the fuel is not reaching the injectors.
Has anybody checked the fuel pressure at the rail with a gauge ?

Car stutters at startup

My car did the same thing and I went and had it checked out. They had to replace my mass air flow censor. Cost me a little over $200. The only thing is after I had it fixed, my check engine light kept coming on. They said that my fuel line was running rich because I had ran my car so long with that problem. May want to get that checked out!

STUTTERS DURING ACCELERATION

throttle position sensor .. this lets the computer know just where your foot is on the gas .. It gets worn out in that position because that is where it is used the most. I would check it first then go from there... they are priced reasonable .. always start with the least expensive first then go from there. thanks Jerry holler if you need more

Your speed sensor in your trans. needs to be checked out sounds like its not working or not getting a good signal until its generating enough power and speed to start until it reaches 30 MPH. Check that out sometimes it could just be some dirt on it. It all makes sense the ABS light is on because its not reading the speed of the tires, and the AOD light is on because It has no idea when to shift into overdrive without knowing how fast its going. I sure Hope that Helps You Out, And Thanks, Bear001
