There is oil leaked onto spark plug; car sputters after driving 15-20 minutes.

the oil could be causing the sputtering by shorting out the plug wire. first find were the oil is leaking from and repair. then check the plug wires for going bad or just replace them. the car is 10 years old and they do go bad.

2005 volkswagen jetta started sputtering, turned engine off then tried to turn back on. took maybe 5 times for it to finally start but still sputtering, any ideas???

Sounds like you could have a bad spark plug. Have you had it near water or rained on, if so you need to let the spark plug wires dry out and apply Di-Electric grease to the inside boot of the plug plus any ignition wires. This keeps moisture out to prevent car not starting.

Washed car...lift hood to wash started, then sputtered and cut off. It looked like it was out of gas, so I put gas in it. Now it starts, but is skipping and sputtering and will not go...water...

Yeah, you sound like you have water down in the plug/wires. You will need to dry out the wires from the plugs to the coil pack. You can buy a solution spray to dry these out faster than air dry. But it will have to be dried before it runs good.
