Question about 1997 Chevrolet C1500

Hesitation off the start but then goes away, also in reverse

2000 silverado has a hesitation when pushing the gas. usually happens when going from a complete stop into acceleration. I have noticed it in reverse as well. After momentum picks up, it seems to go away. Almost as though it's not getting enough fuel. Fuel pump pressure gauge reads okay. Changed fuel filter 2 months ago, was pretty plugged at the time. New plugs 2 months ago, but not wires...any suggestions?

2000 Dodge Stratus misses, or hesitates, when going up a hill or when at a stop and you have to let off the gas and then push it again to get it to go. In the winter, i smelled a sickly sweet smell wh

Heater core is a possibility, and monitoring your coolant level closely should tell you if it is leaking as level will go down. As far as hesitation goes, if check engine light comes on, a trip to autozone or Pep boys for a free trouble code scan, should point everyone in right direction rather than replacing parts by guessing. (much cheaper that way too)

Hard start and rough idle.

Sounds like it's time for a tune up of the ignition system. That would be easiest. If not, have a mechanic check your cylinder compression.

Differential noise when gear is place. in reverse or drive.

If it's only happening when you initially place it in those gears before going forward or reverse, your U-Joint in the rear is going bad. Replace both when you replace the one. This way you don't have to go there again when the fron U-Joint decides to go out. Cheap insurance.
