Question about 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

Rear haych will not open on my 1999 grand cherokee

All the other doors unlock. There is no noise at all coming from the lock so not sure if the actator is gone or maybe its just a fuse.

Rear power liftgate quit unlocking

We had a similar problem with our Grand Cherokee, the actual problem was the latch handle. We ended up taking it to the body shop to get the gate open and the latch handle replaced. I don't remember the actual total but it was under $100 including parts.

Noisy power lock alert on 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee

It is a door lock actuator. Actuate the locks with both the driver and passenger switch and all doors open to determine by sound which one it is. The actuator is incorporated in the door latch assembly.

Sounds like the actuator went out. There normally run 40-60 for the part and does not take long to replace normally 30 minutes.
