Question about 2002 Mercury Cougar
No fuel from pump, swapped relays, fuses, and replace pump. Now pump humms, but still no fuel comming out of tank 2002 merc cougar v6
There is usually a screen strainer inside fuel tank. This is to pick up big stuff inside tank and keep it from entering fuel lines. If someone was messing with you and dropped like a glove or piece of cloth into the fuel tank it would float around and eventually get caught against the screen and would keep gas from being sucked out of the tank. This is one possibility to consider.
