Make sure your battery is in good condition. It sounds like your glow plug cycle is taking all of the battery power and after the glow plugs kick off then you have enough power to crank the engine.

I have a 2008 Dodge Charger and it won't start. I

The guy who said you had three sensors blown probably took your money under false pretences. Sensors don't "blow" unless they get struck by lightning ot something equally unlikely. If that was the case the car wouldn't be starting at all. Once the guy accepted the job of discovering why your car wouldn't start I think it is disgusting that he took your money but didn't cure the problem.

I have never heard of rubbing the battery leads together and I don't think doing that would be at all helpful.

I would take a guess that your car's immobiliser is intermittently not working. The car of a friend had very much the same sort of trouble. The car usually started at home after being stood for a while but once it had been run it was a gamble whether it started again. The dealer said it needed a lot of money spent on it so he eventually scrapped it.
Some of those times when it wouldn't start I was the guy who had to discover why. The engine would crank and there was a spark but no injection in spite of the fuel pump running. I could find nothing wrong with the wiring or anything. It was only by reading the vehicle handbook and studying the wiring diagram and asking a few questions that I realised the immobiliser was faulty. This was my first experience of that type of car.

I believe you need to do the same and discover why your engine doesn't start in a similar way. For an engine to start it has to have fuel, spark, timing, compression and a decent cranking speed so when it doesn't start one or more of those things are missing. You need to discover which and then discover why.. OR you could call the auto locksmith first and ask him to ensure the immobiliser is properly and reliably disarming every time.

Finally, it never hurts to begin by reading the vehicle handbook...

Good luck!

2004 grand am won't turn con but all lights work,et

Hi Alicia with the Grand Am...:) Can you start your Grand Am by jump starting from another car and battery? First check cable connections on the battery...if dirty or corroded (even broken) the connection will not support the cranking power and will not turn over the motor...also inspect the battery to see if the battery casing is swollen...this is a sign the battery cells are wearing, and a battery replacement is sure to have your battery checked ( a free service at most auto parts stores) before you could be stranded...Hope this helps.
