Does it turn over but doesn't fire?

If this is the case, the first thing you will want to do is check to see if your check engine light is on.
If it is on, the codes need to be read to pinpoint exact problem.
The check engine light will turn on anytime there is an electronical problem or sensor problem.
If the light is not on: than it could be a couple things:
Fuel Pump - To diagnose, turn key to on position (not start) and listen to see if you hear the pump turn on. If you hear the pump run, than it is not the pump.
You can also test the fuel pressure with fuel pressure tester on the fuel rail.
It may just be as simple as the fuel filter. They are cheap and easy to install..I would replace the filter FIRST before proceding to anything else.
It may also be plugged catalytic conver.
Fuel pump relay should also be checked with an ohmmeter. This should also be checked before testing fuel pump itself.

Died while driving on freeway, no spark or fuel. but dash lights work. And it turns over but no start

Sounds like the fuel pump went, check the fuses to make sure that's not it. If it is, you can swap it out with a fuse you're not going to need right now. One simple test is to turn the key almost to the start point but not quite, just enough to light up the dash and power up the console - that's when you should listen for a 2 to 5 second humming noise coming from the gas tank, that's the fuel pump pressurizing the tank. Older cars vacuum gas, newer ones blow it out. If you don't hear the noise then it's probably the pump. That would explain while it died while driving as well. Hope that helped , Grim

As with any no start problem, have you checked for spark at the plugs and normal fuel pressure at the injectors ?
Does it crank with normal compression ?

Car dies on freeway.Never overheated!!! What could it be.I'm guessing the fuel pump

Hopefully you don"t need gas first in the tank. While driving did your motor seem to ruff suddenly and as you went slower to a stop did you pull over and turn car off? When you turned it on again did it start up really ruff without giving gas.Can be that you need a fuel injector replaced you can not clean it because it also works electronic.Toyota runs better on higher octane period.

I have a chevrolet dmax/diesel 2005 and it won't accelerate at all. it was fine until a few days ago when I was driving and it suddenly stopped accelerating. so now I can go up to 30 mph and that's it.......

When My Dodge Cummins Diesel did that it turned out to be the fuel lift pump. That truck had 2 fuel pumps. Not sure about the Chevy, but it sounds like the exact same symptoms.

Either you threw a belt or the alternator went bad. Your symptoms sound like alternator...you were running on the battery till you ran out of power.

Fuel/ Acceleration

yes, probably the inline fuel filter on the carb, they use a small paper type filter that clogs up after awhile with junk from the gas tank. also your car will probably hold back if you try to accelerate hard, such as trying enter a freeway.........
