Question about 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe
Correct, there are factory install holes/spots on the frames as the run along the side of the Tahoe under the door locations. If they had not been used they may appear only as holes in the from that the running board hardware will mount into. They are preinstalled so that you do not need to drill any new holes in the frame itself.
If all else fails, head on over to your nearest use car dealer and peek underneath an existing Tahoe. Some Chevy dealers may also have similar vehicles on their lots. Best of all there's no charge for peeking.
