Question about 2000 Subaru Forester
I JUST IMPORTED FROM JAPAN A SUBARU FORESTER 2000. SINCE THE FIRST DAY IT CAME THERE IS A SIGN OF CHECK ENGINE FLASHING ON THE DASH BODY. I THOUGHT IT HAS TO DO WITH THE ENGINE OIL SO IWENT TO SERVICE THE CAR BY CHANGING THE ENGINE OIL + OIL FILTER BUT STILL WHEN YOU DRIVE THE CHECK ENGINE SIGN FLASHES. I DONT KNOW WHAT IS THE PROBLEM. PLEASE ADVISE.
The Check Engine light usually means the car has an emission system problem. Diagnosis requires an OBD2 scanner.
But first, check your gas cap. Is it loose? How good is the O-ring or gasket? A poor seal is the most common Check Engine cause.
