Question about 2001 Chrysler Town & Country

Radiator Fans on 01 Town and Country do not come on

My 2001 Town and Country 3.8L radiator fans do not come on. I took it to the dealer who advised that the relay and the fan motors were bad. I replaced the relay and tested the fan motors by hooking them dirrectly up to the battery. I only tested the drivers side fan and it does work. I did not test the passanger side fan. After I replaced the relay the fans still did not come on. I replaced the Coolant Temp Sensor and still no luck. I am not sure where to go next?? I do not think that I should have to replace the fans if they still work when connected to the battery. Any ideas?

Radiator fans don`t work on town and country van causing engine to overheat

The radiator fan relay is located behind the grill on the driver's side of the vehicle. There is no relay in the distribution box. There is a 40 amp fusible link, however, in that box.
The relay (behind the grill) works in conjunction with the coolant temperature sensor, the A/C high pressure switch, the transmission temperature sender and the PCM. This relay will run the fans from 30% to 99% of full speed based on the signal coming from the PCM. This is all according to the official Chrysler shop manuals that I have for my 2005 Town and Country van.

Radiator fan not working on my 1997 T&C van. I've replaced the radiator fan relay and even the wire harness. Still not fan. It has now lost power and A/C is not working well I assume due to...

IASounds like the radiator fan motor is bad (not uncommon for a chrysler product)
You can replace the fan motor (DIY) for around $100 (oreily autoparts) or the the entire fan assembly for around $300 (DYI) .
Replacing the fan motor will take about 2-3 hours.....taking out the fan assembly will consume most of your time.
hoppe this helps.

Im trying to relpace the radiator for my 97 Town and Country and I need advice on how it would be the easiest way to remove and replace it.

You will have to disconnect the battery, remove the air breather box for the intake, drain the radiator, unbolt the top radiator support and remove it, possibly if I remember correctly you will also have to unbolt the hood latch, disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses, unbolt the cooling fans, and carefully tilt the radiator back towards the engine and lift it out. Be sure to recover the grommets from the bottom of the old radiator to use on the new one as they provide vibration dampening that the radiator needs as it is metal and plastic.

I have s 2001 Chrysler town and country just replaced the radiator and now two months later I'm getting a p1491 how do I resolve this issue

Check fuse for fan relay in fuse box under hood. If fuse is good then you need to replace fan relay sender to pass your inspection.

The fan to radiator stop working what could be the problem!

The electric fans are controlled by a thermostat usually located on or near the radiator. If it has failed, the fan will not start. Also, the fan is fed power through a fan control relay usually located in the fuse box. If this relay is bad the fan will not receive power. One more thing to check is the fuse or circuit breaker. Again these are located in the fuse box. If all these check out, you may have a bad fan motor although it's unlikely.

I hope this helps :)

How to replace a radiator in a 1996 chrysler town and country

If you decide to repair your car by yourself, first you must buy for your Car Year, Make, Model:
Hanyes Repair Manual
Based on a complete teardown and rebuilt.
The general procedure to replace the radiator is:
Open the hood, detach the front grille, plastic radiator cover, and disconnect fans wires.
Detach upper and lover radiator hose, collect and dispose properly the coolant. Detach upper radiator bracket. Take off the radiator with fans assembly. The full procedure is more than two pages, and you need more information how to flush and fill out the radiator. Repair is not impossible to be done, but a mistake may cost you dearly. If you decide to repair by yourself please do it right. If you feel uncomfortable, stop. If you feel confused stop, get more information, and restart next day fresh in the morning. This is a car dealer advising you.

Why does my 2005 Town & Country radiator fan

The fan is computer controlled and will not come on untill it reaches 212Deg . It should come on though if you turn on the air conditioning, if not you could have a bad fan relay or relay plug.
