Question about 2008 Acura Mdx

1 Answer

The radio, dvd, cd, suddenly won't work it doesn't say anything about the security system, i was told it could be the fuse but i don't know where the fuse box is. 2005 Acura MDX my radio, GPS, DVD and CD Player have gone out for the second time; is this common? Should I take my car back to the same dealer?

Left Kick Panel Right where your CALF /Ankle would be is ONE fuse Box the Other is under Hood Left of Battery. It seems to be common With ALL Vehicles W/ Navigation Systems
Stay Away from Dealer if you can or You Will Possibly Pay 100 bucks for them to Change a FUSE

First make sure the battery is fully charged. Then check for clean battery post connections. Then check all the main fuses located in the plastic box under the hood close to the battery on top of the inner fender. You should have all dash lights if everything check out to this point and it should turn over with the key.

Pontiac montana dvd & radio

Being a Brit I don,t know the car but would suggest that your radio/CD might be security coded which works as a security device if someone steals it. There should be instructions somewhere in your glovebox manual telling you how to re-code it. The code would be supplied with the radio and noted somewhere. If not the Pontiac dealer may be able to help you if you quote him your VIN. Some "mechanics" foolishly write the code on the radio unit label - it's stupid but you could try there first!

My 2006 toyota sienna DVD player won't shut off

Engine room Junction Box - on left side of Engine Compartment (Drivers side in USA) - Fuse RAD 1 (20A), Fuse RAD 3 (30A) - there is another fuse that goes to your ECU, it works with the radio, but you won't need to pull it. In case you do - it is Fuse ECU-B (10A)

Installed a new battery and suddenly my cd player reads "error" when I insert a cd. Could this be a fuse or something? Anything I can try to fix it? I think it's part of the theft deterrent sys

usually a blown fuse will shutdown your radio until u get a new fuse so im not thinking fuse.... is the laser that reads cds is that clean???? if unsure they make cds with brushes on the bottom of them and as u put them in it brushes off that laser as the cd with brushes spins. or even simpler just try blowing out the inside maybe its just dirty or a cheap radio. cheap radios cause a lot of problems.... hope i helped....... You can't fix it yourself. It takes a scanner at your Local Dealership to do it. People do it, (new battery) everyday unaware that doing so can and usually does, arm the theft system and either kills the radio or the whole car. To me it's just another built-in defect that requires dealer assistance. It's a buzzkill I know, and it probably won't be long until car owners won't even have access to the engine compartment. Sorry.

The manual shows several fuses for the radio/tape/cd players.
It doesn't show anything for a dvd player but i would think it would use the same power feed as the other. In thepassenger compartment take a look at fuse number 5 and 11 and 20. if they are all ok then in the power distribution box under the hood look at fuse number 56, 59 and 62. Fuse number 62 is the listed as the dvd fuse. However the systems use multiple fuses so that parts of have power all the time, Such as the clock and alarm systems must have power all the time in order to work.
Now not all of the fuses I have listed may be being used but these are all the ones listed for all the different sound systems used.
If all the fuses are good you may have to remove the player and look for a manual release to open it.

The security system does not disable the starter, it only disables fuel to the engine. In the fuse block under the hood, locate the STARTER relay. Place your hand on this relay and see if it clicks while someone else turns the key to start...if the relay is ok then the starter itself is faulty. Good luck, i hope this helps.

In the fuse box under the hood, fuses 3, 6, 7, 10, and 12 are all directly related to the sound system. In the trunk, fuses 3, 6, and 7 are also directly related to the sound system. Please check all the fuse.

And also unplug the CD changer's power and fiber cable and then recheck the radio.

A/c blows cold on one side an hot on the other

To figure out anything at all on a Lincoln LS,because it is
one of Fords most complicated and all electronic vehicles,
(I own One) you need a professional scan tool and the factory
diagnostic manuals or a similiar data base, to do anything at all,
when something doesn't work correctly.

I would NEVER recommend a dealer for any vehicle ever

If you have thousands to spend, your call

That leaves the local repair shops & they don't all care
for Ford Products.
I don't know about the LS & newer Lincolns,but it won't
be a quick fix,as it will be extremely time consumming
just to find the issues at the repair shop you choose

Then your going to get told it is okey or they couldn't find
anything or did do something, that won't last

I could have painted a very positive picture, but I want you
to know todays vehicles are very difficult to diagnose &
mainly there isn't too many mechanics or shops that are
going to do the difficult job of training & self study

You may get a better more technical answer in a couple
days by a tech who know more about the HVAC System
and your issue
