I had to put one 12 oz can in and it worked fine the rest of the day, the next morning same problem, is my valve dumping the freon? and can it be replaced or compressor need replaced? And why would it keep dumping it? Thanks for your help..

  • paco566 Jun 04, 2009

    K. Thanks, i have access to the tool and will check this weekend, i also put some dye in to see where leak is..

  • paco566 Jun 06, 2009

    K. found the leak, it is the compressor, took it off and it is leaking from the O ring where the compressor comes apart. Going to get new O ring Monday and put back together, and tighten it correctly, it was tighter on one side than the other. probably the cause of the leak.

A/C Compressors run on pressure. If your system is very low or not freon at all. the compressor will not run. Have your system checked for freon, have some put in and have it checked for possible leaks.

you could have a leak somewhere. There is a special tool that can detect a leak by smell. You''ll have to take it to a garage mechanic that has this tool. It could be leaking around valves or fittings that have o-rings that have dried out. The best thing to do is to have it checked. and refilled.

Good luck and let me know how you do,

    Thank you

Perfect the dye will help as long as the leak is in a spot that you can see. Sometimes it may be the under the dash behind the glovebox area.

Great, you'll be back in the cool in no time.

My a/c clutch is not engaging and there for the cooling fan is is not working what could be the cause

There are two relevant relays. One is the AC relay, turns the compressor on. The other is the AC fan relay that turns the fan on. Find the AC relay in the underhood fuse/relay block. You could pull it out and with key on, check if one terminal for the relay has power as it should. If it does, swap these two relays, then see if compressor comes on. If it still doesn't work, the dash controls will need diagnosing. There may be a fuse for it, so check for that, a blown fuse.
If it was working and just quit, it is probably a job for a shop.

My 1991 isuzu trooper heater blower fan is not working, nor when i turn it to the airconditioner the compressor does not engage. i checked all the fuses except the ac relay fuse block, what could the...

if the lower fan speeds dont work but the fastest speed does the heater fan resistor block needs replacing. If the highest fan speed doesnt work leave it on there and check for power at heater blower fan, if power is on one wire and the other is an earth the blower motor fan needs replacing. Use a normal globe test light to check this. If no power on any wires to fan go back and check all fuses in car and under bonnet with same test light. If fuses are ok possible open circuit wire to fan.

Is there a fuse or relay for air suspension for a 1999 expedition

Hello
Since you're looking for fuses and relays, I will assume that the compressor is not working. First check the suspension service shut off
switch located under the right side of the dash. If thats on, go to the fuse block under the left side of the dash and check fuses #4-#5-#20-#2
If they're ok, move to the fuse block under the hood on the left fender and check fuse #109 a large 50amp fuse it's best to use a 12v test light.
If that checks out, check the compressor relay located near the right
headlight assy. there will be 4 wires from the relay, lt blue/pink(hot to fuse #109) lt green/red(grnd to compressor) grey/red pwr to compressor)
drk blue/yell to suspension/steering module located behind ctr of dash.
Before you start these tests turn key to on(should be on for all tests)
use the 12v test light and test for power from grey/red wire at the
compressor + check lt grn/red wire for good ground. If you have pwr+grnd it's most likely a bad compressor. But if no power perform the
above tests. Hope this helps.

Ihave problem whit the light pop in the dash the air ride is on all teh time,i am look the manual an try turn the suicht on and off of the trunc is not work

Hi Alejandropen

Your Check Suspension light has come on for a reason and turning the on/off button will not remove this problem.

If your compressor does not come on

Go through the basics with the system starting with its power. Check the fuses for it in the engine bay fuse box.
Also fuse 1 and 4 in the car fuse box locate dnear trunk release.

Replace if blown and see if system works.

Checking compressor

Pull out the relay for the air suspension in the fuse box in the engine bay.
Pin 30 is the one located directly under the fuses above it.

Pin 30
Pin 86 -------- Pin 85
PIN 87

Put a peice of wire between 30 and 87 the compressor should come to life IF its workings, dont hold this bridge in for long just breifly to hear it come on then stop it.

If this works try switching the Horn relay to the Air suspension one and see if it comes alive.

If this does not work and all the fuses are ok, You have a problem with the air compressor and need to pull it out for testing or replacement.

If this works you may have an issue with the suspension controller.

Hope this helps
