Any radiator flushing fluid add water and run your heat on as long as the flushing fluid requires then let cool and drain the refer to your owner manual to see what kind of fluid you car needs and the proper ratio of water to radiator fluid

Brake fluid attracts water, its a good idea to flush and fill the brake fluid regularly.

2004 Pontiac Vibe has 77,000 miles. Transmission fluid appears brownish. Do you recommend a flush? Should pan be dropped and filter be replaced? Can a flush cause damage to the transmission?

I recomend servicing the transmision every 50,000 miles. ie: drop pan replace filter and gasket, clean the sump. A flush also gets more of the fluid changed but I would do that in conjunction with a normal service.

Nissan Altima 02. heater problems

Have you tried asking them to just flush the system, as well as reverse flush? Sometimes that will clean it out enough to get you where it needs to be for now. If not, I'd try that, at another shop, obviously, if for no other reason, a second opinion. Try one that specializes in radiators if there is one in your area. If no luck, and your handy at all, I can tell you what I did to clean core out a few times that worked pretty well for me, and only cost me about $20-$30, and a little time. Let me know if your up to it, but I'd gamble the cost of a flush, and my method, before I'd pay $100's of dollars for new core.

Trans fluid getting into rad causing overheating

The only way it can get in the rad is internally. You need to replace the radiater or take to a rad shop to see if can be recored.

To flush radiater

There are 2 hoses going to your radiator, one near the top and one near the bottom. With the engine cool, remove the radiator cap and then disconnect the lower hose from the radiator (BE SURE to have a catch can to catch all of the fluid!!!!, a few sips of this stuff will kill most cats/dogs). Once all of the fluid has drained out, reconnect the hose and fill the system with water and a radiator flush/cleaner (autoparts store). Drain it once again and refill the system with the correct mixture (usually 50/50 water and antifreeze). Or you can buy the pre-mixed kind at the store.

Good luck!
