Hi,
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Mechanic (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Is $1100.00 a good price for a 2000 model Trans rebuild?

That is sort of cheap, to be honest.
That sounds like an Over-The-Counter price,
where you pull the trans & take to a shop to be
rebuilt.

You will have more problems with the differentials in those years. I would be wary of them unless they have already been rebuilt.

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2w Drive won't go into reverse.

Service the transmission and when you have the pan off, adjust the reverse band. It is either out of adjustment or worn out. Try the adjustment first and if it doesn't get any better, you'll have to have the transmission rebuilt.
