Check and see if your fuel pump is working - Turn key on and listen for hum at the tank - it will only hum for about 3 seconds. What size motor do you have? What else was it doing? - sputtering, etc. The fuel pump is located inside the gas tank. It is combined with the sending unit. The fuel filter is located unerneath the truck along the frame rail. Most probably you will need to change it.

Sounds like your injector has failed. Unless you're cranking or running the engine, the injector should not be allowing gas into the throttle body. The injector is pulsed by the ECU at a duty cycle to regulate total amount at any given time, but just pouring in - bad...

My 1985 grand Marquis won't start I can pour gas

Take the gas filter off. Should be located near the front of the carbeurator, take off the air cleaner and look for it, it takes 2 wrenches to take it off, a little gas may spill out but not much and replace it, however there is a strong possibility that he gas pump is out if the filter is fine. Hope this helps
