Missing front 2 cylinders, and a water leak not sure if its block or water pump. 300zx n/a

I have a 1990 300zx n/a. It is only running on 4 cylinders. I am about to change the injectors, but could this be the reason. Maybe distributor, coils? Also it develops a tick now (when it never did until recently) SO i'm not driving it. Also it sat this winter and when I started it this last week it started smoking and there seems to be an oil leak near the back of the motor. I don't know if it's down low by the rear main, or if there is some where else it could leak from? Then last but for sure not least I am not getting any heat, and the vents don't change when I try to switch from defrost. Please help me I;m WAY TOO POOR to bring it to the dealer. i have a 300zx N/A and my front 2 cylinders dont run . i changed one of the coil packs because it was fried but i dont think it made a diffrence. also i go the other cylinder to run before by pushing on the wires on the ignition connector but i havent been able to get that cylinder running. and i have a water leak but i dont know if its the block or the water pump. help please

Did the car get overheated or run low on oil? Sounds like you have a water leak that caused the engine to run hot which in turn blew the head gasket and quite possibly warped the aluminum head that come with the nissan models. I've had experience with this before and unless you are mechanically inclined, you need to see a mechanic about finding and fixing the water leak and changing the head gasket. Also, If you pull the head, you need to have a machine shop check for warping. They may be able to shave it and make it straight again. You've got real problems though and if you try to tackle this yourself, keep in touch with me so I can help you.

Change the distributor cap, rotar arm also, and ht leads and spark plugs also, the tick could be because it basically is empty on oil...

Possibility of a cracked block. how can i be sure/

Vehicles: Any with the above symptoms

A cracked cylinder block will cause either:
(a) motor oil contamination of engine coolant
(b) coolant contamination of motor oil
(c) white exhaust smoke, due to coolant seeping into one or more cylinders.
(d) more than one of the above
(e) all of the above

Oil infiltrating into coolant is easy to see - drain some coolant out through the pepcock at the bottom of the radiator, and place it into a styrofoam coffee cup. Oil droplets floating on top of the green (or orange) coolant are easily seen. Or visualize oil by looking into the top of the radiator through the radiator cap.
Coolant infiltrating into and mixing with motor oil will permanently damage the engine (seizing it up through loss of lubrication), and must be prevented.
A leak from above the front suspension is, as physicians like to put it, "nonspecific", with the most likely cause a water pump seal or hose/hose connection.
A leak from near the fire wall will usually be a heater core hose, or hose connection.
A coolant leak on the same side of the engine as the water pump is a leaking water pump or water pump seal until proven otherwise.

To rule out everythng else, here's the 1999 Honda CR-V Troubleshooting Guide for Coolant Loss/Coolant Leaking:

Priority Action Part Type Cause
1 Inspect Water Pump - Worn, Cracked or Leaking Water Pump, or Water Pump gasket.
2 Inspect Head Gasket - Leaking Head Gasket.
3 Inspect Radiator - Leaking Radiator Hose(s).
4 Inspect Radiator Cap - Worn or Damaged Radiator Cap.
5 Inspect Radiator Hose - Ruptured, Cracked or Leaking Radiator Hose.
6 Inspect Freeze Plug - Leaking Freeze Plug(s).
7 Inspect Intake Manifold Gasket - Leaking, Worn, or Damaged Intake Manifold Gasket.
8 Inspect Water Outlet - Cracked, Leaking or Damaged Water Outlet.
9 Inspect Heater Control Valve - Leaking or Faulty Heater Control Valve.
10 Inspect Radiator Drain Pepcock - Loose, Damaged, or Faulty Radiator Drain Pepcock, or Pepcock O-ring.
11 Inspect Engine (DOMESTIC ONLY) - Cracked Cylinder Block Leaking Coolant into at least one Cylinder, causing white exhaust smoke.

Howto bleed clutch full procedure Nissan 300zx twin turbo

Not a real big deal , except there is an extra bleeder that is difficult to find. When the line leaves the master cylinder it travels behind some comedic covers on the firewall, follow the line from master c till it intersects with a block. Sometimes the extra bleeder will be directly on the block and sometimes it will be at the end of a line near the passenger side headlight that is connected to this line. So now that you have found the line i would do a gravity bleed first . Fill the resevoir and open bleeder at transmission. When it runs clear ( no bubbles) close it. Now bleed the accumalator block the same way. make sure the resevoir is kept full all the time. Now have someone pump pedal slowly and with full strokes 4 times. crack the block bleeder first while the pedal is being held to the floor . Then close it making sure the pedal is not released while bleeder is open. repeat procedure on slave bleeder and on block bleeder till trans will go in gear with the engine running smoothly.

most common bleeding sequence is furthest from master cylinder to closest.right rear left rear right front left front may need to be repeated.be sure to keep fluid topped off. also check brake lines for leaks

1990 300zx non turbo has miss on 2 cylinders

dude, i think you have two spark plug cables cross over. go to your local autozone and find a "firing order" if it was a blown head gasket it would show on the compression test but i'm pretty sure its a spark plug cable cross over.

Front 2 cylinders missing. leak not sure if it block or waterpump

THE TWO CYLINDERS THAT ARE DEAD..IF YOU PROBLEM WAS THE COIL THEN YOU WOULD HAVE A BUILD UP OF UNBURNT GAS IN THOSE CYLINDERS.. REMOVE BOTH PLUGS.. PLUG THE COIL WIRES TO THE PLUGS AND LAY ACROSS BLOCK ON GROUND HAVE SOME ONE ELSE START CAR LOOK FOR A STRONG SPARK... FIRST THOUGH WHEN YOU REMOVE PLUGS SEE IF THEY WET AND / OR DOES IT HAVE STRONG GAS ODOR...SUGGEST REPLACEING THOSE PLUGS.. IF STILL HAVE PROBLEMS THEN IT IS TIME FOR A COMPRESSION CHECK.. YOU CAN BORROW COMPRESION GUAGE FROM AUTO ZONE...AS FAR AS THE LEAK YOU ARE REALLY GOING TO HAVE TO GET DOWN ON ENGINE TO LOCATE THE EXACT AREA COMMING FROM... BUT WOULD NOT SURPRISE ME AT ALL FOR THE WATER PUMP TO BE CULPRIT

300zx N/A Only running on 4 of 6 cylinders. HELP! Also have

It could be the rear main seal if You see oil dripping out the back of motor, but check the spark plugs, if 2 are all black and wet w/ oil, the valve seals could be leaking onto tyhe plugs and fouling them out. Good Luck!

Missing 2 cylinders, no heat, oil leak. 300zx HELP ME PLEASE

If you have no heat at all and its smoking white out the tail pipes then you have a blown headgasket. That is why you aren't running on 2 cylinders.

Check you coolant level to see if you have a blown head gasket. The tick is from not having enough oil in the engine. Oil always leaks from these but not too often its the rear main, just depends.

Does it smoke white out the tail pipes?
