All depends on the fittment type of the gear knob its self, some are screw on, some are simply push on and lock in place. will be able to find a replacement on ebay possibly...simply screw it on or push it on.

Removal of shift knob of a cadillac dts 2011 to replace

A couple of places to look for releasing it. The set screw is concealed under something on the knob itself. If this is an automatic then it may have a twisting ring on the bottom of the shift know that screws off and reveals the set screw that will have a small hex head. The other place would be if there is a logo head on the shift knob. That usually pops off an exposes a nut or another set screw.

Does anyone know a possible way to remove the shift knob on my 94 passport? I bought a new knob and want to replace it, but I can't figure out how to take off the old one. I tried to just turn it left

knobs screw on normally and there is a small locking nut underneath the knob . IT could look like a taper ring to finish off the knob but it should turn down the lever to release the knob.

The fan and temperature control knobs fell off my control panel. Need to know how to get them back on.

ask a mech, or DIY inclined friend, this is basics, there are no books for that.
we look at it, and see if its missing the clips or? and decide what to do. in most cases with a very old car the knobs are bad.
buy new ones. at honda. or off a wrecked car..

if above is too hard, then post a photo , of back side of know
and we can tell you why its bad. more are push on knobs.
rare are set screw type. (but is possible ) and varies by country car was sold, some countries use other HVAC systems.
and you never stated country. (fail)

Replace auto shift lever

You need to remove the shift handle first...key must be on...no need to start...pull shift lever down to low gear...look on the back side of the knob...you should see a u-shaped clip head...pry gently under the u-shape with a scredriver to begin removal...then use needle nose pliers to completely pull the clip out...after this is removed...you will be able to kift the shifter knob off...Don't know if you mean replace shift knob...(known for breaking) or actual metal shift lever...if you need the shifter arm, your best find would be at your local salvage yard...some will remove for you...some will let you find your model and remove yourself...To re-install put the shift knob back on the shift lever...to lock in place then re-insert the u-clip to lock in place...Many good mechanics are not familiar with removing these shift knobs...Hope this helps.

Gear shifter will not go into park

There is a plastic actuator stick under the shift knob. Remove the "horse shoe" clip from the shift knob and remove knob by pulling strait up. You can twist it right and left a very small amount to loosen the knob, but not much.
Once you have the shift knob removed you will see the plastic actuator stick. Push down on the stick and put shift lever in park. If that works, the shift knob or stick is worn out.
Let me know.
Regard,

Removal of gear shift knob

There are two types of shift knobs. One that unscrews and one that the lower trim of the shift knob separates from the knob using a trim stick. After separating the lower trim from the knob pull upward to release the knob from the shift lever. If a new shifter assembly is being installed, unscrew the original shift knob or separate the lower trim from the knob and pull up to remove the knob from the shift lever. Screw the knob onto the new shifter assembly's lever no more than 14 turns or install the lower trim onto the shift lever then push the knob onto the shift lever and install the lower trim piece onto the shift knob.
