Question about 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse
Bought a 97 Mitsubishi eclipse GS (no turbo, automatic) with only 48 thousand miles, the car fax was straight;there were not any previous issues and it passed emmissions- the car is sexy however, the check engine light comes on and goes off when it feels like, the car is slower than a normal GS especially up hills, a strong odor of gasoline is driving me crazy, it bux and vibrates (only i the driver can feel it) when im at a light, the car stalls(AUTOMATIC!!!) and sometimes the car wont even start until i open the hood and f around with the battery terminal..i bought the car from a private dealer AS IS...what do i do?? where do i bring the car?? i bought a lemon and im terrifyed one day its jus gonna **** the bed....somebody...anybody...heelllllppp!!!
The gas odor indicates a leak in the fuel system, probably the gas line. This would cause fuel delivery problems and stalling. It may also be the reason the check engine light comes on.
Have the fuel lines checked and replaced if need be
