How to fix the Secondary air intake stuck open

code p2004 refers to intake manifold air control actuator-bank 1--actuator stuck open===Causes---wiring--intake manifold air control actuator---mechanical fault .I would check blockage and wire connections Then I would replace the actuator But I would not tear down the engine as it is between the air filter and the manifold. Check the air cleaner element

Secondary Air Injection (AIR) System Control A Circuit High
Possible Causes:


AIR relay fault - stuck closed Secondary AIR pump fault - circuit open in motor Open ground to secondary AIR pump Open AIR monitor circuit between the secondary AIR pump and the PCM Short to voltage in the AIR relay to secondary AIR pump voltage circuit

P2440 refers to the Secondary Air Injection system. It means that the switching valve is stuck open. We already replaced the secondary air flow pump, now it's telling us that's its the secondary air flow sensor and the valve is stuck open. the code is coming up P2440

Your going to need a air pressure regulator or better yet if the ECM found fault price it and replace it

1. Start the engine, and let it run for 5 minutes, then turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. Remove the cylinder head cover.
3. Set the No. 1 piston at top dead center (TDC).
4. Move the intake secondary rocker arm A for the No. 1 cylinder. The secondary rocker arm A should move independently of the secondary rocker arm B.
1. If the intake secondary rocker arm A moves freely, go to step 5.
2. If the intake secondary rocker arm A does not move, remove the secondary rocker arms as an assembly, then check that the pistons in the secondary rocker arms move smoothly. If any rocker arm needs replacing, replace the secondary rocker arms as an assembly, then retest.
3. Repeat step 4 on the remaining intake secondary rocker arms with each piston at TDC. When all the secondary rocker arms pass the test, go to step 6.
4. Check that the air pressure on the shop air compressor gauge indicates over 400 kPa (4.0 kgf/cm2, 57 psi).
5. Inspect the valve clearance.
6. Install a 10 x 1.0 mm adapter to the inspection hole, then connect the air pressure regulator
5. With the specified air pressure applied, move the intake secondary rocker arm A for the No. 1 cylinder. The secondary rocker arm A and secondary rocker arm B should move together. If the intake secondary rocker arm A does not move, remove the secondary rocker arms as an assembly, and check that the pistons in the secondary rocker arms move smoothly. If any rocker arm needs replacing, replace the secondary rocker arms as an assembly, then retest.

P2440 Secondary Air Injection System Switching Valve Stuck Open Bank1

Problem is usually the air switching valve that operates the air line coming from air intake to air pump, clean it or replace it.

Secondary Air Intake System Fault code P0410 is set by a defective air injection pump, this pump is electric, on older cars it was called a "SMOG PUMP" and was belt driven by the engine. On cold start do you hear a hair dryer type noise from under the hood? if not the pump has failed, if you do the check valve is stuck closed, the only way to fix either issue is a new secondary air injection pump.
