I have an after market one.. The fog lights plus the horn are not working either.. so could it be a relay?

  • kaselpw Jun 02, 2009

Where does the wiring go to? i hit the front right fender of the truck.. Could something have happened there?

  • kaselpw Jun 02, 2009

okay i got the horn working.. the ground wasnt tight.. but my dash lights do not work.. nor does the stereo.. im wondering if there both related to a problem

if your truck was hit in the front check the wiring harness around the area were it was hit you may have cut a wire you may have to remove the coolant bottle etc to get to the wiring it doesn't take much to cut the wires some are very small the fog lights and the horn both have a relay both should be in the power distrabution box under the hood both also have a fuse check your owners manual it will tell you which ones they are. let me know how you make out

  • smartwrench1 Jun 02, 2009

normaly the wiring harness comes out of the cab on one side or the other runs along the fender then across the front and back up the other fender the horn and the fog lights could have gotten cut is there anything else thats not working dome lights map lights lighter sockets etc

check for loose or not connected grounds under the dash you may have just missed hooking one up go to areas you have had apart already first

I have a 97 dodge dakota sport and want to disable the passenger side air bag. Not sure which fuse cavity is for passenger side airbag 18 or 19? Do not want to pull wrong one

My 97 has a place in the dash under the radio to insert your ignition key
where you can turn the passenger side airbag off. If I were you i wouldnt pull the fuse for it because it could tell the computer that there is a problem that could
cause other problems. Just turn it off with your key.

cut the fuse box out it is not really needed sense the truck has a radio fuse and if the radio overloads for some reason it will blow the radio fuse under the dash!!!

I was hooking up my stereo and my dome lights dont work when i try to turn them on and i looked a all the fuses and still dont know whats going on

Did you use the factory ground when you installed the stereo? If you did thats your problem, the factory grounds on dodges act really weird, ground your stereo directly to the chassis (metal dash support under the dash) your problem will likely go away.
