Question about 2002 Ford Ranger Regular Cab

1 Answer

2002 Ford Ranger Edge Regular cab

Fuse number 2 at the top of the fuse panel inside the truck,10 amp fuse blows when I put it in gear and then the ac blower motor quits and the airbag light in the dash starts flashing...It is fine and everything works when it is started and the air blowing it only blows when it goes into neutral on the way to drive. It does not blow in reverse. Anyone have ideas? sounds like the same problem i have with my truck. only the the heater and a/c will only work on high mode. my air bag light flashes too. when the a/c is on the air bag light stays on.

Check for a problem neutral switch and wires
may find that switch is loose and grounding out the wire connections or plug

SOURCE: The 2002 Ford Ranger XLT airbag light blinks

The airbag is there, what's most likely wrong is the key switch may be going bad. Take your Ranger to a reputable mechanic and ask them to check it...unless you have an OBD II or a multimeter.

2003 ranger (no power to diaignostic port under dash)

Did you check the fuse? If not the fuse you are looking for is in the passenger compartment fuse panel (see picture of location below). The fuse you are looking for will be in the number 17 position and should be a 20 amp fuse (see picture of layout below). This fuse is also for the cig lighter so they blow often, I hope this is the problem and hope I was able to help. Good luck.
