Better check to see if the nuts are still tight on your fan.

I have a 1976 Stingray Corvette. Was sitting for over 1 1/2' in the garage. I tried to start it and it needed a new battery. I place a new battery it started up. After a few weeks now the car does not

You have an alternating problem..I assume on a 76 model you have an internal regulator...if you have no voltage meter then charge your battery and start the var then pull positive battery terminal...if car dies, alternator is bad and needs replacing. If it stays running your at least putting out some voltage but might not be enough...most parts stores(Auto Zone, ect)will do a free voltage check(on or off vehicle)

1976 chevy stingray corvette, new battery it kicks in and sounds like it wants to start but it would start. Any idea why?

Mary...when you say "wants to start" I'm not sure if it turns over but won't start(sounds like lack of fuel or timing problem)or it won't turn over fast enough to start(again sounds like alternating problem and for a bit been running car off battery with no alternator till battery too low to turn engine over)...and what the heck is "starter fluid"???? No such thing.

My 2003 Chevy Malibu overheats and shuts off when driving after 10 mins, especially when I hit a stoplight, took the thermostat out recently because I thought it was that, idk of it is water pump or fuel...

If your water pump goes out, it will leak water from the seal. The fuel pump will not make a car overheat. Its more likely that your fan isn't working or your radiator is clogged. You can check fan relay, or fuses.

My radiator fan is not working and my car is leaking water ive recently had a new thermostat anew water pump and a thermostat put on my its a 95 buick skylark 4 cyl if you can help please let me know

You have a couple of different problems here. You need to address the leak issue first. If you took it to a shop, go back and tell them to fix their work. Your radiator fan is another issue. Is this fan the big one you normally see on engines or are you talking about the auxiliary cooling fan that is mounted in its own assembly right behind the radiator? The auxiliary fan is controlled by a temperature sensor that your car's computer operates. For a better explanation, see the following link:

More than likely, the shop that did your work did something wrong and they are required to fix their screw up. At a minimum, they should warranty their work for at least 90 days.

My 1996 corvette lt1 will overheat while standing, fan does not come on,i have to put on a/c and both fans come on and car cools down to normal.i checked fusesand replaced, thermostat cooling sensor,temt...

U have an electrical issue. If water pump was failing then how in god's creation could the two fans cool the engine down? Check out the circuitry that controls the normal fan operation and you will take care of the issue. Till you find the problem just hot wire the fan motor with an on/off switch.

Ihave a 1976 corvette stingray when i BOUGHT IT IT DID NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL POP UP LIGHT i have since purchased a pair and fitted them in I cannot wiork out the vaccum lines do I have to have the by pass...

The vacuume line starts at the carburetor. From there it splits into two lines: one for the operating system and another for the control system. It is in the control system that you will need to have the override switch you referred to. Once you run new lines, you will need to make sure your two regulators and two actuator motors are functional. If you have everything run correctly, and there is vacuum in your canister and the headlights still will not pop up, then most likely you have a faulty regulator or actuator motor. Go to then search "headlight guide" that will show a manual on how to run all the vacuum hoses and other tips on installation. A vacuum guage is handy to have to test for vacuum leaks at different areas of the line.

Key stuck in ignition of 1976 chevy corvette stingray 350 auto

If I understand, the key will not rotate to all of the normal positions? If this is true, then I would guess that the trani didn't fully return to the park position please verify, You can check the ignition switch(the one that is half way down the steering column) for defects. Is there any binding, does the rotate freely? Thank you; good luck.
