Abs actuator toyota

I have a 2008 Toyota corolla with dashboard lights showing check ABS, check Engine and check Power steering with the brake pedal going down (soft) when pressed (note the check p/s goes off and on; on when steering is hard. when I switch off and on the engine again the p/s become normal and it goes off the dash board. Had it tested by a Toyota dealer and was told its the brake master and speed sensor. Changed the brake master and brake pedals gets better but brake pedal pushes my leg bag and makes a sound when pressed. Took it back to them and they said its the ABS actuator that needs to be replaced that the engine and speed sensors are working well but the ABS actuator is not functioning well and not seeing the right signal from the sensors, hence the reason why all the lights are showing. What do I do as I don't want to get an actuator and the lights will still be on. This morning both the P/s light and check engine light didn't come up as usual, only the abs light did

Is ENGINE SPEED normal when PS fails.? and brake feel>
i bet not, if engine RPM not near 800 and not 350, near stall
the vacuum is way low, and the assited brake booster goes off line.
the PS gets weak, all very normal with idle speed failures.
why not look a the tach0meter and pay attention to that.
1000-1500 cold
800 hot. rpm. (see your cars spec for hot RPM its not 300)
my guess, is you took car to dealer when all was working , right.
well dont. unless rich... are you.
if you can demonstate a failure they can not fix it.
if it aint broke dont try to fix it? comes to mind.

so what was the RPM at failure.....??????????
i can not speak for ABS. lots to go wrong there.
even bad brakes, (the old school parts, pads calipers rotors)

OOps, check the power steering fluids firstly as well as the brake fluid levels and color. consider that the wrong fluids in either may require the full bleed-down especially if the brake fluid was accidently filled with power steering fluid or vice versa. The power steering fluid has can be undone near the pump typically with just a hose clamp then this routed into a 2liter pop bottle via a hose with a copper tubing attachment then new fluid poured in while the old fluid gets pumped into the bottle as you run the car and pour new fluid into the pump. It may take 2 peeps to do this so you don't end up with a big mess and can stop once the fluid is clear. The speed sensor will make your engine run slow at idle and a sensor on the power steering rack can have a bad wire as it tells the computer to idle up when you turn the wheels a bit. I have simply unplugged the ABS relay and drove the vehicle like that so that it didn't prevent me from stopping.

Remove the front wheels and inspect the ABS connector wires that run above the control arm. Chances are you will find that these wires are damaged.The ABS is in or around the wheel bearing and there is a clip that can be gently pried back to remove the ABS plug from the Wheel bearing sensor or the external sensor in that area.
Sometimes a faulty alternator will light up the ABS sensor light. Check to see if the vehicle is charging when this light is on., typical voltages while the car is on should be around 12.5 to 14 volts. You can test it right at the battery while the car is running.
Sometimes an alternator will only go faulty once the component inside get hot.
Typically the wires to the Wheel Hub sensor goes bad from exposure to the elements, especially snow and ice climates or rocks and dirt-roads a lot or if you go through bushes a lot.

Your dealer is not lying to you.
All of the Toyota product line with ABS has this phenomenon. What Toyota has done is incorporate "Brake Force Distribution" into the braking system. What that means is there is now a sensor on the brake pedal/brake rod, going to the master cylinder. The sensor measures how FAST you press on the brake pedal. This activates the ABS pump, and supplies more brake fluid, harder, to reduce the time needed, such as a "panic stop"; the pedal travel is much longer than you are used to, because of the way they have to measure the speed of the rod being depressed. In actuality, this system is much better than the old system, as it also prevents wheel drag. It just takes a while to get used to. Really, there is nothing to worry about, I explain this same thing to my customers every week.

i think your right about the dealer, the code reader will tell the mechanic what is sending the fault, for him to change the air flow meter then the wiring is bizzare as these are 2 major seperate items and the codes would tell him that. My suggestion, take it to a local mechanic who has a code reader to tell you what the fault is, most mechanics won't charge to have a look. Toyotas are usually a pretty reliable car. Replace your master cylinder. It is leaking out of the back of the master cylinder and into the booster. If you unbolt the master and carefully look into the booster, chances are you will see brake fluid. Replace it, bleed the entire system, and enjoy your truck again.

Sounds like there is a fault with the vacuum pump not generating enough vacuum for the brake booster assist, or a leaking vacuum hose. Try pinching off all the vacuum hoses to see if the problem goes away. Could also be a leak in the brake vacuum booster itself

Use a scan tool or Techstream and calibrate deceleration sensor. While performing the calibration follow on screen instructions.You can do the calibration by clicking Engine and ECT> Utility> Reset Memory> After that click "deceleration 0 point calibration" while you do that make sure that your car IGN switch is "ON", hand brake pulled and your gear shift is on "P" or Neutral. At last perform the CVT Oil Calibration.
Some automatic transmission DTCs cause the MIL to come on. If the MIL is on and no DTCs are indicated in the EFI system, select the A/T system, and check for automatic transmission DTCs.
If the problem persists, check the Yaw rate sensor for its position or replace the Brake Actuator Skid control ECU (ABS actuator assembly).
