Check the fuel pressure, make sure it doesn't bleed down after the car sits, that causing long crank times/hard starting.

Hard starting then starts up after a while then wont pass from 2000 to 2500 rpm then let go of the gas pedle and car stalls

they are known for bad distributors.there is a module inside the distributor called an ICM,and if it fails, the car will run like that. Also check that the ECT sensor for the computer is operating at less than 1 volt dc.A bad coolant temp sensor will cause a hard start condition.

1998 jeep wrangler starting issues

Hi Dava224 i had the same problem with my 1989 CJ. when it was cold out i would pump the gas pedal 3-4 times before turning the ignition. it puts a small amount of fuel in the motor without stalling it out. it wont start as hard. another good idea is to keep some fuel stabalizer in the tank everytime you fill up. hope this helps
