Question about 1996 Chevrolet Blazer
-battery tests 12.6 v no load -alternator charges 14.4 if I get it started. -dash -ignition- lighting all work in the "run" position of ignition switch when key first inserted. -as soon as the key is turned to engage the starter, the whole system goes dead-no dome light...nothing. It sometimes could be reset if the battery cable was disconnected and then reconnected. Now the electrical system is just fully dead. -Battery still has a charge, but the car cannot even be boosted. When boosting I measure 14.4 v between chassis and positive cable from the boost vehicle, and yet no lights or anything on the dead blazer. I have a 96 Blazer that keeps killing the battery, have replaced ground, and the battery 3 times (under warrenty) but now it's come back again. I put the battery on charger and get an error code of internal shorted cell. What could be shorting these batteries?
If voltage reulator on alt. does not stop current after battery is charged it will over charge battery abd can drain cell from boiling electrolite out.check 4 bulged battery case(swelling) indication of overchaeging.the start problem could be your starter wires connection.remove starter wires clean contacts and torque respectively.dont forget the ground to motor.sounds like a loose or corroded contact somewhere.

SOURCE: hi there i have a
My 1987 pulsar with a CA16DE DOHC looses fuel pressure when it sets over night. I have replaced the fuel pump and the external return valve on the tank. the injector seals at the intake are in good condition. The injectors are the ones with the hose that is crimped at both end. Any idea why it loosed pressure and seems like it is out of gas at first start up. It starts good after that.

SOURCE: 1997 chevy 1500 wont stay runing
Sounds like you have a bad battery. Dubble check the wire connection and harness to the alternator.
If the battery has less then 10.5 Volts the ECM shuts down the Engine and your Fuel pump doen't have enough power to sustain the right fuel pressure.
Good luck and hope this helps.
