And if it's spinning over does it sound normal, if it sounds like you have no compression when it's spinning over you may have a broken timing belt. Especially with that many miles.

Check the leads on the battery first make sure they are clean and secured .if they are then you will have to get yourself a test light and start back tracking

Did you hooks the the spark plug wires right. If these are not in the right order then you will have a misfire. If enough of them are out of place then you wont have enough fire to start the engine.

Car is stumbling with acceleration, and maintaining speed, no knocking noises, 253,000 miles, 94 honda civic, dx , manual

either you got old worn out spark plugs and or wires or you have a sticking valve inside the engine, i would replace the spark plugs and wires and if that dont fix it, it will be a valve,,,,

89 honda civic swap car wont start

Backfires usually mean it's still out of time, either engine wise, spark wise, or injector wise. I'd pull the cap and inspect the ignition coil if it's that style. Hondas are the easiest cars to get spark plug wires mixed up, even the pros do it every so often. I'd also make sure all your injector connectors aren't swapped around, & definitely check all of your engine grounds. you could also have a bad timing belt tensioner or just be a few teeth off. I always triple check the simple stuff over and over again cuz thats what it usually ends up being... hope this info helps...(subytech1)...

I am purchasing a 1991 Honda Accord EX with 60,000 miles. The engine mounts need replaced to fix a vibration at stop lights. Any other issues that I should look at fixing as part of PM?

Yes, I always do the same thing when I buy a new vehicle that way I keep track of it and know exactly when it was done. first buy a new air filter, new fuel filter, new spark plugs, and maybe plug wires. check all belts and hoses. and change oil and filter. these things will pay for themselves. have fun. Wow a 91' with only 60,000 miles that's amazing. I've got 178,000 on my 93' accord lx and it's still running perfect!!

Try doing an ohms test on your fuel injectors. Sounds like 1 or 2 could be bad.

Need to set spark plug gap

Read the labels under the hood. Spark plug gap can quite often be found on one of the labels somewhere in the engine compartment.

If not, then the owners manual or a service manual that you can purchase.

Starting problem with honda civic

Next things to check are fuel and spark, remove a spark plug and with the wire attached crank the motor, if you see spark in the plug then it's not a spark issue and probably a fuel problem. If there is no spark could be bad plugs or wires, or distrubitor cap. To check fuel remove injector cover and crank motor, if there is no fuel coming out then check fuel filter, fuel pump.

Good Luck
