take it to a parts store , have them pull out the code, you might try this , remove the negative battery terminal for about 10 minutes ! this could do it ! if not, have the parts store do it. all codes must be removed from ecm after repair is made to eliminate it , its stored into the memory, it will not forget about it , you have to make it forget !!!! get it ?
99% of the time, the gas cap wasn't tightened properly, or is leaking. Make sure you twist it tight and it clicks a few times. If the "Check Engine" light stays on after a few days, buy a new gas cap. Again it may take a few days to clear.
I assume it is displaying gas cap on the odometer. This happens when the van sees a EVAP leak. It is small and is telling you to make sure the gas cap is tight. If it is you probably have a leak in the EVAP system. If it gets worse it will turn on the check engine light.
Most common problem is a loose or defective gas cap. If it is not tightened properly it can set a code. Once you tighten or replace the cap, the light should go out after about 100 miles of driving. You can check engine codes using a free loaner scanner at Autozone parts store, etc.
