No brake lights

Thank you 1998 Ford Contour, I have no brake lights. Just the one in the middle of my back window works. Is this something major?

Have you checked the bulbs ? you have 3 things that need to be checked you have the brake light switch on the brake pedal , then you have multifunction switch and a hazard switch. some cars the hazard is on the multi but I cant remember for sure on yours so I put it there for you. the multifunction switch is the most common problem for brake light problems and you just have to test out put and inputs at each one.

Yes, check the fuse and brake light relay in the engine compartment relay box. See my tip at http://www.fixya.com/TipsAndTricks/posttipandtrick.aspx?thid=6053280 and let me know if you have questions

Air bag light flashing and check engine is on 1998 ford contour is this factry default never been wrecked

no its not a defect you have a wiring problem and you should have it checked by a qualified mechanic.

You air bag will not work if that light is on. And the check engine light is a totally different issue, you will need to find out what code is making the light come on.

Any major parts store can give you that info for free.
