Sounds like a vacume leak, chk. for a cracked or broken vacume line or maybe one came off. Does it idle ruff? With it running open hood and listen for a low pitch whistle you may have to rev it up a little.

Look for the a line problem first, don't get real excited yet, my best guess is its just a vacume hose thats off or broke. Remember its a '86 rubber hoses get brittle with cold and heat cycles.

I have a 1998 Fleetwood Bounder with a Ford 460 while traveling I'm getting a high pitch whistle type sound that comes and goes not on continually does anyone know what this could be. Iike an alarm

Odds are good for bad bearing somewhere. In a pulley on engine, a wheel, something under heavy load with a bearing that is getting tired. That is my vote.

Sounds like air is shooting out when accelerating. Could this be an exhaust leak? Plugs, coils, hoses seem fine. Noise is coming from passenger side under engine sounds like.

yes could very well be an exhaust leak.but that should be kinda loud and annoying..also u could have a slight whistling sound coming from ur air intake hose coming from air cleaner box to ur intake or throttle body or ur air inlet goin to the motor. when the motor is accelerated it would produce a high pitch sound like a whistling .hope this can help

2004 honda odyssey making whistle noise

I know this original question was written quite a few months back but I was wondering if you ever found out what the high pitch sound was. I just purchased a used 2005 Honda Odyssey and it is doing the exact same thing. Any advice?

Whistling from engine

This is a symptom of the inlet manifold gasket having a leak. The whistling is air going in through the small leak/hole in the gasket. With the throttle butterfly shut, air is getting sucked in the only way it can.Try tightening the inlet manifold bolts 1st.But more than likely the gasket needs replacing.Hope this helps

My car is a 03 mazdaspeed protege. After about a twenty minute drive it starts making a high pitched whistle sound. When i give it some gas it stops but when i let off it comes back.

This could be caused the idle speed control valve as air passes through it, have seen this issue on other models many times, clean the valve first, if the noise persists replace it.
