Is there a starter solenoid on a 1998 subaru impreza outback?

I just put a new starter in my car and it still wont start. there is a clicking noise everytime you turn the key. the batter is charged. where would the solenoid be if that would be the problem and would anyone have any other ideas what could possible be wrong? During the day the car started up like normal (twice) then car won't start up, battery is full. I tried jump starting it and same thing, doesn't start. Could anyone help?

First the starter solenoid mostly attached on the starter motor , but sometimes it could be inside the starter motor . the clicking sound you hear is that the solenoid dont recieve enough power to close the contacts . that could happen because a dead battery , red batery red cable ( + ) dameged or not tighted enough . this link will help you http://www.samarins.com/glossary/starter.html if this helped you pls vote for me

SOURCE: subaru impreza automatic transmission won t shift

Try replacing the transmission filter and the trannie fluid. Mine would only go in reverse, and now it drives pretty well. This year has a screw on filter. Hope this helps

Starter or solenoid issue on '98 Subaru Outback Legacy

The starter is separate from the soleniod; It could be a part called the bendix on the starter itself. If you can remove it, take it to a auto parts store- they will check it for free.
