it was the door stricker, it was too far out. loosened up the torx bolts up a bit and hit the striker with a rubber hammer. I compared it to the passenger side and tightned up the torx bolts again. Had to do it twice as the first time I did not hammer the stricker deep enough. btw the torx bolts that Ford uses, size 30, are a piece of you know what - really soft heads.

Please inspect the door, lift the door up and down From the further most point of the door jam and see if the door pins are worn out. After that you can inspect the condition of the door latch assembly and the door striker (See if it is loose and/or if the sheet metal around the striker, is cracked or broken. You should find it soon enough.

How do you remove the external driver side door panel or shell on a 2004 350Z and interior door panel. Thank you

outer shells or skins are fitted by folding the metal back over the inner part of the door
the removal process requires you to grind the edge of the fold off and lift the skin off the inner door
fitting is by bending the shin flap back around the door panel and hammering it tight
AS the inner section can warp during this process, it is best performed by a panel shop that has the jig to hold the panel in shape while the refit is being done

How do you adjust the tail gate to stop the annoying rattle when driving?

Most rattles are due to the back door not closing tight enough. There is a lock/striker that the door lock assembly latches to. Usually the striker/latch is bolted to the rear floor/bumper area and the screws/bolts securing it can be loosened and the striker/latch moved forward and retightened which in turn will cause the door to be tighter stopping any rattles. You may also have a rattle inside the door assembly itself or loose paneling causing this issue

1999 honda odyssey.....just had the rear latch assembly replaced. I think it needs to be readjusted because it isn't making a tight close and the interior lights flash on and off. But now my 3 windows...

I don't believe the window issue is related to the door adjustment. But the interior lights flashing are> It would be the same instance if you were opening & closing your drivers door while driving. The rear door isn't closing tight enough to shut door jam switch.

The drivers side door won't open from the outside. How do you take the door apart from the inside? Thanks!

There are a couple of screws holding the armrest in place, remove them. Using a small pick type of tool, pop out the power window master switch, there is another screw under it. The door panel itself is held in place with push clips, so grab the panel from the bottom and pull it out until all the clips are out of the door, then slide it straight up to get it off the top of the door edge.

Cannot remove outside door handle

If you look under the handle you will see two round flat rivet heads. You will need to remove the door skin. Roll the window all the way down. Pull the plastic trim up off the window regulator arm/handle and unscrew it, there is a screw inside the arm rest in the place where your fingers go, and another screw behind the inside door handle that holds the plastic molding in place. After those are unscrewed it is just a matter of popping off the skin with a suitable pry bar or trim plug pry bar tool (the door skin is attached by plastic barbed plugs that go around the outside of the door) Pry from the bottom 1st, then the sides. Lift skin away from door from bottom and then pull up to remove skin from door...this will release it from the top where the skin attaches inside the door next to the glass.
Temporarily attach the window handle and roll up the window. Cut the doors inside plastic liner to gain access to the inside (Duct Tape this all back up air tight when re-assembly). Keep that window handle may have to adjust the window height to move the glass/arm out of your way.
Once the outside handle is drilled out (use a big drill bit and go just deep enough to break the head off then use a punch to drive out the rivet) you just have to unhook the metal arm that goes to the latch. Bolt on a new handle and re-assembly is reverse of disassembly. Take advantage of having the inside of the door open to lube up the window regulator or even spray a good dose of Rust Check etc inside to protect it from rust. Rangers are pretty bad for having the bottoms of the doors rust out.

Door panels

not too sure on this one...but on most Saturns the out side door skin is removed to gain access into the door. look on the inside of the door around the perimeter for large torx screws, if there remove them, lift up the outside door handle on one side there is a plactic plug, remove plug, push handle to side and remove. remove the outer door skin. (your original question...the window crank is held on by a horseshoe clip like this...)
