Question about 2006 Dodge Durango

Fuel injector noise???

We just purchased an 06' durango with a hemi V8. we noticed a squeaking noise over by the back right side of the engine. you can hear it perfectly if you stand right next to the front right tire..we took it in and we were told that it was the hemi noise! then he told us that it is the injectors that we hear, when we asked to hear another durango with a hemi. if he is right and someone tells me that the noise is normal then i will not think twice but my gut tells me that the tech is just being lazy, my BIL had a durango with a hemi and he never noticed an injector noise, but is there a diffenence between an 03' and an 06' ?

I need to know what size my engine is?

Dodge Durango is available in SE, midgrade SLT and Limited trim levels and it comes with one of three engines: a 210-horsepower V6, a 303-hp V8 and a Hemi 376-hp V8.

With the VIn number, just call your Dodge dealer they would be able to tell you or try in THIS LINK.

Hope helps (remember to rate this).

Where is the EGR Valve on a 2004 Dodge Durango Limited, V8, 5.7L Hemi? Is a hard operation to replace?

Have not replaced the EGR on my 04 Durango as of yet, but if you look into the the passenger side front fenderwell you will see part of it. Usually 2-4 bolts and the harness connector are all that is required.

Chrysler EGR valves are not known for their reliability.

We just purchased a used 2006 Dodge Durango, with the hemi. When we first got the vehicle, it averaged 16.7 MPG for the first 500 miles that we had it. That was what we'd expected, after having researched...

i would check; fuel pressure,. high preessure can cause high fuel consumption via the fuel pressure regulator; vacuum, read with a vacuum gauge 16-22 hg; a faulty maf sensor can be bad and not set codes; dirty injectors, run a quality injector cleaner through the system or better yet, have a service center do a top end clean (requires special eqipment). the pcm could cause the injectors to stay open to long. in any case, you'll have to find a capable tech center to tackle your problem if no codes are set. just to confirm is the check engine light on/working?

06 DURANGO HEMI, ROUGH IDLE WITH AC ON

I have a durango R/T 5.9, but with any car you buy especially like one's with big block V8 any time you turn on the ac your vehicle will lose power as well as consume more fuel hence you vehicle has to idle at a higher RPM.

2001 Tahoe: Hard to start, idles rough, check engine light on.

Flashing check engine light is missfire, fuel pump probably causing multiple tries to start.Having to build fuel preasure, vac leak on one side of intake probably causing rich/lean condition. Also check back preasure to cat ,Sound like you are moving down right track.Mas air flow would probably set lean code bank1 and lean code bank2
