89 jeep commanche will run as long as you hold switch in start pos.cuts off when you go to run pos.will run with ballast risistor wired to batt voltage.have changed inj switch, coil and tried junk yard...

Your looking for power on the yellow wire when the ignition switch is in the run or start position. This feeds power to the ignition module and power that energies the fuel pump relay as well.

If there is power let me now and we will dig a little deeper.

1987 Jeep Commanche Laredo, long bed, 4wd, auto inline 6. Just had $1,500 worth of drive train work (front to rear) done on truck. On the 90 mile trip back home gas started coming down from top of tank...

I had no problem finding a sending using and gaskets for $40 on the Internet.!

But since the last one worked fine for 23 years, I think you are way over reacting. In fact, the sending unit is not nearly as likely as just the $2 seal. And I would not even drop the tank, much less replace it. If access is difficult, I usually just make my own access hatch by cutting looking at and measuring one in a salvage yard, either using a cutoff disk or sawsall to make an opening, and then adding metal to the edge so that you can screw the opening back down again, sealed with duct tape.

Did an oil change, filled gas tank, put in GUMOUT, 1999 Jeep GC

If you put a fuel cleaner additive in the tank I would change the fuel filter. I believe on this model it is located in the frame just ahead of the fuel tank on the drivers side. Any foreign material cut loose from inside the tank from the cleaner often clogs the filter.

95 jeep cherokee it wont stay running at red lights

Try a tank of supreme gas, plus a can of SEAFOAM in the gas tank. After running about a half of this tank out. Pull positive post off the battery for about 1-minute. This will reset computer, and it might clean up the fuel problems that you are having. If it keeps on, change the O2-sensor out and do the above steps again.

97 Grand Cheeroke wont start in the morning when its cold out

Is it fuel injected or carb??? Try holding the gas pedal to the floor while turning the jeep over. This sometimes makes gas pump thru to the cylinders. Have you changed the fuel filter???? I know alot of jeeps have a fule filter with a bypass back to the tank, and sometimes the filter will be bypassing to the tank instead of the the motor. Check it out?????
