Question about Honda Civic Coupe
I have a 2008 Honda Civic and I looked in the owners manual, but
it says NOTHING about the markings on the engine oil dipstick.
The bottom 3/4" or so of the dipstick has little x marks etched it it,
but NO marking of add or full. Way up about 2 inches high
is another big bubble . The oil on this car is within the XXX but
way far away from the big bubble thing.
HOW DO YOU TELL IF THIS CAR NEEDS OIL, if it is full
or if it is low?
As long as it's within the XXXX's on the dipstick, your car is fine! If it drops below the XXXX's, then add some oil. The XXXX's on the dipstick represent 1 quart of oil. You want to keep it in the XXXX's range on the dipstick. Also, check your oil when the car is parked on an even surface and the engine has not been running for at least 10 minutes. This is to make sure the oil has dripped from the engine back down into the oil pan, where it is being measured, and that the oil is even in the oil pan.

If the oil is somewhere on the x's, it's okay. The x's represent about a quart of oil. Below x's add oil...
