The display for mpg, temp, & miles to empty quit working. How do I get the console apart to look at it?

I checked the fuse first and it's o.k. Sorry I didn't state that. Anyway I thought I'd look at the circuit board next but I'm not sure how to get the console apart with out tearing it up. Thanks

yes you need a new thermostat or there is low coolant. this will affect the mpg because your overheating and thats why its stalling. dont drive until you fix or you will blow your head gasket if it isnt blown already. change thermostate and check coolant.

You will need to remove the vehicle information display module and send it out to a GM certified repair center. The problem you have can't be fixed at home.

Air temp and humidity level can change mpg calculation two tenths. BUT, that does not account for the huge disparity in your numbers. You may have something wrong with the trip calculator or, there may be a leak somewhere. Have your codes scanned. MPG can drop suddenly if an O2 sensor fails.

The problem is not with the display, it only reports what it is told. Your problem is in the computer module. I would look in the owner's manual and find out who the Area Service Representative is and contact him / her.

Overhead modual stopped working

If the lights in the overhead console work then it is not a fuse, it is a bad console. These units are poorly designed and fail frequently. We offer a repair service with a lifetime guarantee. Check out www.autoclockrepair.com. Drop us a note if you have any questions, thanks!

Message center resets, mpg display resets to zero with miles to empty displayed. clicking sound heard when this happens upon engine start up

sounds like a bad relay, check connection at battery and at display. also display may be going bad also. when display resets do you lose preprogramed radio staitions or time on clock?
