Check your owners manual for a fuse &/or relay that may be faulty. If no luck , get back to us.

Check inside trunk area on drivers side behind panel for an inertia switch. It will have a reset button to push in on top or side . They used to have a small opening in panel that you could get your finger through and press it in to reset it. Usually about half way back .

That switch shuts power off to fuel pump in a collision but are often tripped just by something hitting up against rear drivers fender, or someone.

1999 mercury marquis wont start, turns over fine, think its the fuel pump, not sure.

Check the fuel pressure at the injector rail.Or hook it up to OBD II code reader, which should give the average fuel pressure.
Do you hear the fuel pump run for a second or two when you first turn the key to `ON' position? That means your fuel pump reset hasn't tripped(for collision purposes, but sometimes needs reset).
When all else fails, go to Ford and they will hook it up for 50-70 bucks and tell you what is wrong.
If you can give more details, post back and let us know. don-ohio (:^)

2000 mercury grand marquis starter turns over but car wont start its a 4.6 engine

Engine is not FIRING? But it turns over, right? Assuming this is so, I'd run the OBD II codes first.
Fuel pump operating? Can you hear it when you turn the key to `ON'?
If not, there's a fuel pump reset button,I believe in the trunk(safety switch in case of collision).
Post again with more info.don-ohio

94 mercury grand marquis LS wont start. Turns over. Replaced relay, checked fuses, replaced fuel pump ( tho didnt need to- wired it to car battery and it does seem to work.) Will run with priming (starter...

Hello, There is a fuel cutoff switch in the drivers side of the trunk. It is referred to as the Inertia sensor. It will detect an impact and disconnect the power to the fuelpump.

If you look at the drivers side of the carpeted trunk there will be a slot in the carpet or a hole. All you need to do is push on the switch button and the system will reset. If you have air ride the Inertia switch is next to it.

Rear window will not go back up on my 1994 Grand Marquis. I can hear the motor but the plastic gears may be stripped. Is this a tough problem to fix?

the window regulator needs to be replaced. you need the track and the motor which come as one unit. pick this part up at the salvage yard for about $40. I have replaced both rear regulators in my 94 mercury grand marquis ls
