3rd door on ford f150 will not open

I have a 1997 Ford F150 truck and the third door on the passenger side was opening and closing fine until a few minutes ago when I tried to open it and it was stuck shut. How do I get it to open?

There was something in the paper, maybe a recall on the latch for the 3rd door. There is a clip inside the door that keeps the lockrod in place. You might want to call the dealer about it. I am not sure you can remove the inside panel without having the door open.

I need to locate the fuel reset button, on a 1997 ford f150

Passenger side front kick panel, it should be embossed in the plastic molding saying fuel pump reset..something like that. It is behind that, alongside the wall in front of the door.

F150 third door top lock won't release

there's a cable that runs from the door mech up to the top latch, need to pull down on this cable to release the top latch. Only way I could pull down enough to release was through the hole just left of the opening for the mech...cable is attached to the door frame with plastic tie wrap...pop this out so the cable is free in there and then just pry down with a screwdriver...make sure your pulling the handle at the same time. Once the door is open, it's easy to see what happening, most likely the cable is stretched out too much. I just ordered the part from Ford, the cable and top latch come as one part...about $60.

try taking apart and cleanig all contacts first. make sure you are getting power to switch. Sounds more switches are going bad. They usually last about 5 to 7 years before they start going out.
