Seemed everything was working fine. Got into the car after driving it for awhile, and it started very well, however, the abs light was on, the heater a/c controls would not display, auto control would not work, fan would not come on, interior lights would not go off when engine started.

- When you say controller, is this the same as the ECM. I haven't heard the term body controller before.

- Everything was functioning well when I stopped the car. 1-2 hrs later when I started the car, the following did not function:
1. The display on the heater/ac controls
2. The fan would not come on for the ac
3. The interior lights would not go off when the car was started
4. The chine for headlights on alarmed continuously when the car was running and the lights were on.
5. The ABS warning lighted on the information panel.

Checked fuses, none blown.

It sounds like your body controller is bad. It may be called something else, but there is usaully 1 computer that handles those tasks, and communication with other modules. Would need to go to the dealer to confirm.

 hi..
it is the head of the switch that controls the lights when you open and close the door broke off meaning it's always on. When you open the door, inside the door jamb right where the hinges are there is a little button that pushes out. When it's out the lights all turn on. When you close the door it pushes the button back in switching off the lights, or at least sending a signal to turn the lights off within a certain period of time. Thats the simple answer

It's a bad switch in either/both the driver or passenger side front door. The switch is located at the bottom of the door opposite the hinge. The switch is used to tell the car that the door was unlocked and to turn on the lights. If you pull back the door cover on the bottom (You do not need to remove the cover completely) and pull back that plastic you will see the plug for the switch down in that bottom corner. Just unplug one switch and try closing and locking the doors. If the lights still don't go off try unplugging the other switch and doing the same.

I'm not sure how much these switches are, but If you decide not to replace it you will see the following effects (There may be more, but these are the only ones I'm aware of): 1.) The lights will not turn on when that door is unlocked. 2.) If the alarm is set and you unlock only that door and enter the vehicle, the alarm will sound...
