Question about 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier
OK HERE'S ONE FOR YA .. TOOK THE FUEL PUMP OFF AND HOOKED IT TO THE BATTERY THE FUEL PUMP STARTED PUMPING .IT PUMPED SO HARD I COULD NOT HOLD MY THUMB ON IT. OK ITS NOT THE FUEL PUMP I THOUGHT .THEN I PLUGED THE FUEL PUMP BACK TO THE PLUG WITHOUT PUTTING IT BACK IN THE TANK TO SEE IF IT WAS GONNA WORK. IT WOULD PUMP MAYBE 2 SECONDS . EVERY TIME YOU TURN THE KEY ON. NO BLOWED FUSE ...HAS IT GOT A RELAY AND WERE IS IT SOMETHING TELLING IT NOT TO PUMP WHAT WOULD YOU DO?????????????
Yes there is a fuel pump relay for the most part it is under the hood in the fuse box there try this website www.alldatadiy.com if no luck there stop by your local library and get your hands on a Hayne auto repair manual for your car also like to give you this information if you every have any hard to find GM-parts Schram auto & truck parts 1-800-292-1032 and they website is www.schramauto.com.
