I have a 2000 ford taurus 3.0. The metal part of the heater bypass is rusted and leaking. Can I remove it and hook up heater hoses without the bypass.

You can but i am not sure of the consequences if any. You can buy the assembly from ford at a reasonable price and maybe find it at your auto parts store. Easy to install.

Where is bottom part of should seat on lumina

the shroud should be screwed into the back side of the radiator (side closest to the engine) you will want to test fit it with the screw holes lined up and have someone spin the fan to see if the shroud is out of the way. It's normal not to have it screwed in at the bottom.

Why it called DexKILL
Your best bet take it to a qualified repair shop !
Once the thermostat kicks in the temp lowers which is great. I know we have to replace the thermostat The thermostat doesn't kick in , it opens !!!! And if the temp. goes down when the thermostat opens ,it's working ! The redish clay looking stuff is rust , air got into the system . You probably have a bad radiator cap . Now you need a compleat cooling system flush !
Your heater core is plugged .

How to remove and plug heater hose on a 93 chevy lumunia. the hose that in rusted out and water pour out, It's attach to radider and wine all around motor. The tubing is somekind of metal. My brother...

well let me tell you a easier way!! just cut the metal piping off! with a saw saw or a hack saw or tubing cutter and back of the motor where it screws in? unscrew that portion of the tubing and go buy a 1/2 pipe fitting with a barb or nipple on it and just run new heater hose back to the radiator and then you still have a heater

Can't locate block heater cord on 1992 lumina

Your car may not have a block heater, but if there were one, you could see it on the bottom front of your engine ( gotta get under car to see) and the cord , if you have a block heater should be plainly visible.

I have to replace a hose that runs from the top of the waterpump towards the firewall. I am not sure if it is a bypass hose or a heater hose. I have a 3.1 lt eng, 1993. Could you tell me the name of the...

If i'm not mistaken, the one from the top of the pump to the firewall is the heater hose, as the heater is inside the van under the glove box or in the middle of the dash usually, so the heater hose has to go through the firewall, and the bypass hose should go straight to the engine or the rad. Although i'm not 100% sure since i never dismantled a lumina heater and hose assembly, but i rarely seen it any other way on all the cars i did work with and it's also only logical.
