Yes, I have ben pulling on it, all that happened was oil ran out between the can and the block. I'm in the situation right now were I can't tighten the assembly up. Is the cap suppose to come off or the whole can? The whole can is turning right now.

This may sound stupid, but I will ask anyway.... did you "pull" on it after you loosened it? Been there...

From my research online, it looks like the L models have a permanent filter housing. I am thinking that the cap comes off and you replace the filter inside the housing. It doesn't sound like you remove the housing too. Sorry I can't be more help.

You will also need a 3/8" ratchet drive (square) for the oil filter housing, but expect you have already gotten that far!

If the complete canister is turning rather then just the cap, it is broken and needs to be replaced.

Saturn L300 oiling circuit diagram needed

you have the 3.0 V6, there is an oil cooler under the intake manifold that is known to cause problems, be very very careful if you try to fix it yourself, the saturn 3.0 is not an easy engine to deal with.

The starter and or solenoid on your Saturn L300 would need to be replaced. I would first replace the solenoid. When your engine heats up there is too much resistance to allow it to engage. I have seen this problem on 5 other saturns and the solenoid is very inexpensive. Hope this helps!

Where is the oil filter for a 2004 saturn l300? we thought it was near the oil pan but it wasn't.

You need to be under the car half way, it is a cartridge type you need the head of a 3/8 drive to remove. If you look close you will find the oil drain plug.

Hope this help.

Need tips and location of oil filter and drain plug.

well the drain plug is ALWAYS gonna be on the bottom of the oil pan bolted to the bottom of the engine, the filter is either gonna be on the oil pump near the oil pan or it will be screwed into the side of the engine block, either way you should be able to see it just from a quick look from underneath the car.

I need to replace the crank sensor on a 2004 saturn l300 3.0

If you lay on your back and slide under the front bumper just past the radiator you will see the oil filter housing. It is on the block next to the filter housing on the right side That is where it is on my 2003 l300.

sometimes the oi filtar can be difficult to locate, you may have to access from under the car, if you cannot not see the botom of the motor clearly you may have to remove the splash guards in order to see it.

Changing the cabin air filter on a Saturn L300

Read through to the end of this wiper motor replacement story. Your job will entail everything except the wiper motor.

I had the same problem in my LW200. As the other poster indicated a new wiper motor will do the trick. This is an easy fix. Remove the wiper arms, pry up the plastic center cap and remove the nuts holding the arms down then pull them off. A soft prying nudge from underneath will help as they are splined shafts. Raise the hood, put a large deep well socket on over the splined shafts and remove the 2 large nuts holding the trim panel on. Pull up and off the long rubber which runs along the front of the trim panel, watch there is a sharp edge underneath. Now you can gently pull off the trim panel, remembering to lift it over the splined shafts. Mechanism is right there, remove 3 screws and unplug wiring. Take wiper motor off the linkage, swap with a new one from advance auto, about 100 bucks, reinstall in reverse order. Note there is a stamping on the linkage telling you where the pivot arm should be for the rest or stopped position and if you ignore that your wipers will be out of whack. While you are in there you may want to change the cabin air filter as well as it will be right in front of you.
