Car will not start

A few weeks ago i had a misfire on number 6. I changed some of the spark plugs but not coils. car would start no problem but the thing would idle hard and lurch while at a stop. then it died, and it would not restart. i had it towed home and the driver said he could hear gas through the lines, he knocked on the filter to try and help. Guys at autozone said maybe to burp it ( not sure what they were talking about ) then i saw something on this site saying maybe a computer issue. please help

Misfired cylinder 6, replaced coil, plug Misfired cylinder 5, replaced coil, plug Misfired unsure which yet, all of these happening within a week. It will run fine for a day or so after rep

change all plugs with proper ones - they are picky for some reason - do not change number or brand from original - coils were probably ok, - get some injector cleaner and run through it but check for exhaust leak at e g r tube - is a common over looked cause of misfire - a thing to keep in mind is misfire isn't always spark issue. hope I was of some help

MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 6 COULD BE FAULTY SPARK PLUG OR BAD IGNITION COIL OVER THE SPARK PLUG,YOU COULD HAVE HAVE CLOGGED FUEL INJECTOR.CLEAN ALL FUEL INJECTORS USING A CAN OF SEAFOAM TO 3/4 TO FULL TANK OF GAS SEE IF NUMBER 6 MISFIRE CLEAR UP, IF NOT COIL OR FUEL INJECTOR COULD BE AT FAULT.ALSO CHANGE 6 SPARK PLUG FIRST.BEFORE BUYING NEW COIL OR FUEL INJECTOR THAT WAY YOU KNOW PLUG NOT THE PROBLEM.

Did u find code p0306 comes up ? Two things can cause this if the plug and coil have been replaced.the intake manifold may be leaking in the area of cyllinder 6 or its a mechanical issue.try doing a cyllinder misfire test and also check the compression on all cyllinders

Misfire on number 6. changed spark plugs and coil, still reads misfire on number 6

What vehicle?

Spark plugs never misfire, by design, Wear yes, that stresses the
ignition modules

If you have a coil, that is for all cylinders, the others fire okey !

We need your year, engine, V6, V8, etc, to help

You never change parts to solve any issue
That is called wishing,hoping,pushing,poking,

What code # did you get PO306?

Misfiring. Stopped at AutoZone and computer said #6 cylinder misfiring. Do I just need to change the spark plug or get a new coil pack? Also, which plug is number 6

number 6 plug depends on what engine you have 6 cylinder or an 8 cylinder you need to be careful with that code it could be a plug , a plug wire , a coil pack . i had an issue with that code and it was the crankshaft sensor 38 dollars from an autoparts store dealer wanted 170.00 ! crank sensors have an adjustment on them a few thousands of an inch and yes it makes a difference ! hold it down while you tighten the bolt . hope this helps

2004 F150 5.4L engine misfire

The concern is likely caused by the coil which sits on top of the spark plug. Your P0301 indicated misfire on cylinder 1. Your P0316 indicated it occurs on the first 1000 revolutions. Your P0171 indicated lean on bank one. Bank one includes cylinders 1,2,3 and 4. Your lean code is strange but could be related to misfire. I would recommend swap the coil on number one with number two. Clear the code and drive it. I would expect to see a P0302 which indicates the misfire traveled with bad coil. good luck.
