Check that the battery terminals are clean and secure at the contact surfaces. Check that there is 12v at the small terminal to the right of the large terminal on the starter with the key in the "start" position. Make sure the battery has 12v with a volt meter...your starter requires far more power than anything else in the car...low voltage will still turn on dash lights. If you have no power at the small wire check to see if you can regain power by shifting to neutral (may have a bad or improperly adjusted neutral switch) If all else fails, check power into and out of ignition switch (on top of steering column, under dash) Likely you will have it solved before you get there though. After it's running check for proper charging and adequate belt tension.

My PRNDL don't work, loose shift indicator won't go into gear. Plenty of transmission fluid, no obvious wear or breakage, what do I do now?

When you turn the key to the ON position are there any instrument lights on the dash? Does the radio work? If not, dead battery.

Engine won't turn over

This is most likely the battery, sometimes you can have enough power for dome lights and radio, but not enough "Cranking Amps" to start the vehicle. Charge it, or take it to an Auto zone or something. They will charge it and test it for free.

2009 HHR won't start. Battery is good.

Is the security light on or blinking? If not then do you have power to the starter. You can check this with a test light. You should have power when you turn the key to start. The test light should light up.Should be the small wire.I believe it is purple in color. If the security light is on then you will have to get the codes to see what is causing the no start.Hope this helps.Good luck.

My 2003 dodge grand caravan wont start. All dash board lights work, radio works, and windows rolls down. Starter has been replaced and still nothing.

Is there power at the cable at the starter? Check for grounds by putting clamp from your test light to the negative side of battery & probe the cable at the starter, starter & solenoid, sounds like the solenoid isnt engaging, but if the starter motor isnt cranking either bring the starter to the auto parts store & have it bench tested.

2004 Grand Am get nothing when attempting to start,

You may not have as much power to the starter as you think. Lights and radio run off of voltage. Your starter runs off of amperage. There may be enough volts but not enough amps to start the vehicle. Also grab a friend and have them tap on the starter while you turn and hold the key in the start position. You may also try resetting the stock security system by following the steps in the owners manual. One last trick is to shut all the doors and the hood, then put the key in the drivers door, turn the key to lock, lock, unlock, unlock.
