1993 SUBARU LEGACY CRANKSHAFT PULLEY IS OF BEFORE FINDING TOP DEAD CENTER WHAT MUST I DO TO PROPERLY INSTALL THE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY IN RIGHT POSITION AND DOES THIS PULLEY GET A KEY STOCK INTO THE SLO

If you mean your fan belt or drive pulley broke and you want to replace it, there is no timing position unless there is a Woodruff Key for the pulley and that is straight forward.

TURN CRANKSHAFT BOLT COUNTERCLOCKWISE TO LOOSEN. YOU HAVE RIGHT HAND THREADS.ENGINE TURNING CLOCKWISE.YOU NEED A STRAP WRENCH HOLD CRANKSHAFT PULLEY WHILE LOOSEN IT.BUT YOU NEED A CRANKSHAFT DAMPER REMOVAL TOOL.OR HARMONIC BALANCER REMOVAL TOOL.YOU NEED STRAP WRENCH TO HOLD CRANKSHAFT PULLEY WHEN TIGHTEN IT.TORQUE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY BOLT 90 - 98 FT LBS. MAKE JOB EASIER.HAVE A HELPER HOLD STRAP WRENCH WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN CRANKSHAFT PULLEY.

Removing Camshaft pulley on 2.5 Dohc forester motor

To replace the timing belt back guard you will have to remove both pulleys. There is a small bolt under each pulley holding the belt guard Use a large socket to hold the pulley while you break the bolt loose with a 17mm socket. I have just done this while replacing my head gaskets due to coolant boiling from the gasket leak.
