My 98 jetta 2.0 5 spd will start sputtering if you press on the gas hard it only does it sometimes

I had same problem i replaced ingnition coil, cost about $100. new, get one from a junked car for about 10 bucks.

Fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump if changing the filter doesnt help.

The fuel filter may need to be replaced. The parts are relatively cheap - labor may vary from 1/2 hour to an hour.

1972 olds 98 455ci starts and runs fine when its cold but once i've driven it for awhile it starts sputtering like its running out of gas


sounds like a vapor lock. older cars needed a set of points . they kept firing times in sync with fuel delivery , valves opening/closing try that.

My son has a 1999 Hyundai accent 1.5liter 5 spd, the car starts ok then dies and sometimes is hard to start back up. It looks like the plugs fowl right up, new plugs helped but not long. It has new plug...


if the car will not take gas at the pump and spills out when trying check the hose that goes from filler tube to the charcole canister it will be full of charcole if so replace canister

sounds to me like either your in need of a tune up or there is a chance your crank position sensor is going out or finally gone.
