Question about 1999 Ford Windstar
I need a diagram for a 99 for windstar transmission? anyone have one they can email me? thanks THE O/D LIGHT CAME ON IN MY 99 FORD WINDSTAR. wE KEPT DRIVING FOR ABOUT 40 MILES AND THEN STOPPED TO GET GAS AND THE TRANSMISSIONS FLUID WAS SPILLING OUT OF THE BOTTOM BY THE TRANSAXLE. wE ADDED FLUID AND HOBBLED IT TO THE NEXT TOWN WHERE WE WERE TOWED HOME. we LEFT IT SET FOR 2 DAYS AND THEN THE MECHANIC WENT TO LOOK FOR THE LEAK AND IT WON'T LEAK. i SHIFTS HARD TO FIRST AND SECOND GEAR AND THEN RUNS FINE. IS THERE A PRESSURE GASKET THAT MAY HAVE BEEN BLOCKED OR DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS? tHANKS
Might be the torque converter seal. i just replaced mine. check the torque converter for wear too. if there is a ridge where the seal meets the torque, replace the torque too. while the tranny is out, you may as well replace the rear engine seal. parts total $50-$80. labor is about 5+hrs with all the right tools and jacks
